Thought to date back to the early 19th century, The Adam & Eve has long been a social hub for the Homerton community and retains many of the pub’s original features, from rich wood panelling to cosy, intimate corners. In the post-war years we became part of the area’s vibrant cultural fabric, with stories linking us to the Teddy Boys who defined East London nightlife in the ’50s.
We are at 155 Homerton High Street in Hackney, E9, three minutes on foot from Homerton Overground on the Mildmay line. That makes us an easy meeting point from Hackney Wick, Clapton, Lower Clapton and Victoria Park, and a short walk from Chatsworth Road.
Our kitchen is home to Seouls of Mischief, the Korean burger and wings residency from the team behind Mexican Seoul. Dry aged beef smash burgers, buttermilk fried chicken in their award-winning Gochu-Gang sauce, loaded fries and a vegan smash.
Six screens and a large projector showing live sport, from the Premier League and Champions League to rugby, F1, cricket and the darts. Book ahead for the big fixtures.
DJs behind the decks every Friday and Saturday playing dub, disco, post-punk and soul, with the bar open till 1am both nights. See who is playing this month.
A covered beer garden out the back, two pool tables including our famous L-shaped one, and a photobooth. Dogs are welcome throughout.
